All Donna Shepard Mustang Band students must perform at Donna Shepard concert assemblies in December and May. This is a part of our curriculum requirements.
However, all band members have to opportunity to earn the privilege of performing for at least three off-campus events: two concerts at Willie Pigg Auditorium (December and May) and the Sandy Lake Band Festival (April or May).
The Donna Shepard Band has earned the privilege to perform at other on and off campus events, such as the DFW Middle School Conference at Tarrant County Convention Center in 2003, the DFW Intermediate School Conference in Keller in 2002, and other PTA and school events.

We cannot stress enough that public performances outside of the school day are earned privileges, not "rights." ONLY those students who meet these standards will be allowed to attend off-campus events.
A major part of having a great band, one that is worth a student's time and effort, is for students learn to meet their responsibilities. We set a very high learning and responsibility standards for our students, and the majority of our members always meet them. For this reason, our band, though only two years old, has a reputation as one of the finest Intermediate School bands in the metroplex!
Please be sure your child understands that to earn the privilege of performing at Sandy Lake, Willie Pigg Concerts and other special events, he/she must meet all the requirements listed above starting NOW, and thereby forming the habits necessary for success!
