Grading will be weighted as follows:

1. 30 % Daily Grades - following instructions; working up to expectations and having all equipment, music and materials; instruments and materials left overnight will result in a grade of "0" for the previous daily grade.

2. 20 % Practice Reports - signed by parent, will be due each Friday, with 150 minutes of practice per week being the minimum required. This is "band homework." Each day late is minus 10 points. Please refer to the "GRADING POLICY" section of the Donna Shepard Band Handbook.

3. 30% Exam grades - weekly playing and written tests

4. 20% Notebook - (3 ring binder with 30-40 plastic sheet protectors), including all music, band books, handouts, pencils, highlighter and red marker. All measures in music numbered, all music and handouts marked as directed.

5. Percussion students should maintain an "E" level in behavior in all classes (not just band)! Success in any endeavor requires self-discipline. This is not optional. Students who cannot behave in school will not be allowed to perform in public.
